There’s not really a major secret to what makes Kilwins so amazing (although we do have our share of secret recipes). We focus on traditional candy-making methods. For example, we make our world-famous Mackinac Island Fudge by hand on a marble countertop, like it was made in the 1940s. The way Don Kilwin made candy over seven decades ago still inspires the way we make it today—from hand-paddled fudge to caramel made in copper kettles.
Although we're proud of our wide selection of chocolates, our Original Recipe Ice Cream also deserves a round of applause. Our ice cream isn't ordinary ice cream—it's extraordinary. It didn't earn the designation of super-premium for nothing.
Kilwins ice cream is unique in that it starts with an ultra-high-quality base. Once we have the base, we add high-quality inclusions like chocolate chips, caramel, fudge, and sugared pie pieces, just to name a few. We strive to create flavors for every ice cream fan. We have the classics, like vanilla and chocolate, made with the same dedication and care our Heritage Chocolates receive. You can expect to see dozens of flavors, with notes of summer fruits, toasted nuts, and more.

The Kilwins ice cream recipe was finalized in 1985 and has since then become famous around the country. As more and more people heard of our incredible ice cream, we needed a way to bring it to them. However, we needed it to arrive in the flawless condition our customers knew and appreciated.
To achieve this, we now use temperature-controlled trucks to preserve the unbelievably smooth and silky texture of the kosher-certified ice cream our customers love during transport.
