One of our most famous delicacies is our Mackinac Island Fudge, made in the same way for over 75 years in a recipe developed by Don and Katy Kilwin, our founders. You don’t need to travel to Michigan’s Mackinac Island for a slice of the famous fudge. We bring a taste of charming small-town Midwest vacation towns to you, here in sunny Florida.
Kilwins in The Villages is all about tradition—our chocolates, in boxed assortments or wrapped single pieces—are made the way Don and Katy made them. Everything at Kilwins is made by hand and carefully inspected, from our caramel apples to caramels to truffles and more. Our original recipe ice creams are made of fresh milk from our local family farms because we believe in supporting our farmers while serving the community. Additionally, we are Kosher-certified, proudly accommodating our kosher customers.

Our Kosher-certified ice cream recipe has stayed the same since 1985. Kilwins ice cream is made from cream and milk sourced from local family farms and kept in our custom-designed tubs.

At Kilwins, we created flavors authentically ours. Even our chocolate and vanilla ice cream tastes different—better—than those at other ice cream parlors. We have dozens of flavors, and new ones come in throughout the year, making every trip to The Villages chocolate store exciting.
To make such high-quality ice cream, it has to start from a high-quality place. That’s why we only make our frozen desserts from milk and cream from local, family-owned farms. Once it’s made, we only keep it in our custom-designed containers. We found that standard containers didn’t do enough to preserve our ice cream’s consistency… so we made our own. Speaking of inventions, we operate Kilwins-specific ice cream trucks so we can maintain temperature control for every second and every mile.
For special occasions or "just because," the day calls for Kilwins chocolates. Our wide variety of chocolates—classic milk, dark, and white— are incredible, and we simply couldn't forget our Heritage chocolates, made with our 1947 recipe. When you come into The Villages chocolate store, one of the first items to try is our signature Mackinac Island Fudge. It's famous for its creamy texture and rich flavors, and it’s made by hand on marble countertops. Our method remains the same as it was in the 1940s.
