Ever since we opened the doors of our first location in 1947, we have prided ourselves on making some of, if not the finest chocolates, anywhere in America. From classic toffee confections to silky smooth, handcrafted creams to our Sea-Salt Collection and so much more, we carry a wide array of chocolates, all made using our original recipes. No matter what chocolate you love most, we guarantee it will be hard to only take one bite.

As we’ve continued to grow our business since Kilwins first opened in 1947, maintaining the exceptional quality Don and Katy Kilwin strove for remains key to our success. Every single store we operate sells chocolates, fudge, and ice cream made in our own facilities, with only the finest ingredients we can source from local family farms.
We take these extra steps to ensure that all of our customers visiting any one of our Kilwins stores have access to the same high-quality treats. At our Arlington Heights chocolate store, we use the same methods from Don and Katy Kilwin, and many current team members were taught by their protégés.
Kilwins takes pride in this passing down of processes and traditions and uses some of the same equipment to make our products that we did back in the 1940s. While we’ve upgraded and modernized our facilities in the preceding decades, we’ve kept much of what makes Kilwins a nostalgic Americana-style chocolatier and ice cream maker.

After positioning Kilwins as one of the top chocolatiers in the country, we expanded our offerings to include ice cream in 1985. In order to ensure that our ice cream really is as rich and fresh as advertised, we exclusively use ingredients from family-owned, local farms to create our Kosher-certified, “Super-Premium” frozen treats.
Once we make our premium base ice cream, we mix in inclusions like caramel, chocolate, nuts, and other quality confections to create dozens of different flavors, only available in Kilwins stores.
Like everything else we make, we weren’t satisfied to merely make something pretty good—we wanted to make something just as good as the chocolate we produce, and we’re confident in our results and encourage you to judge for yourself. We’ve been steadily expanding the flavors we have on sale over the years.
While the majority of our offerings are available year-round, we also create limited flavors to celebrate different times of the year, so check in with our Arlington Heights location to see what we have available today.
